We are currently seeking a Personal Banker I for our N. Maple office in Saline, MI. You must have exceptional client service and sales skills and consistently maintain a positive attitude. The primary focus of a Personal Banker I will be to open and close consumer products. A Personal Banker I will also perform account maintenance and resolve service issues. By becoming knowledgeable with bank products and services, a Personal Banker I will proactively recognize and meet clients’ financial needs by providing prompt, accurate and efficient teller transactions, when required, and recognizing cross-sell opportunities. Personal Bankers will maintain a favorable image of the bank by conducting themselves in a professional, courteous manner while providing outstanding client service. A Personal Banker I may be required to perform Teller, Personal Banker and Receptionist duties as directed by branch management.
Open and close consumer banking deposit products.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of all regulatory, compliance, and company policies and procedures. Attend and complete required compliance training. Perform job following all regulatory, compliance, and company policies and procedures.
Retain clients and increase the level of products used by clients.
Handle client service issues.
Within specified authority, perform account maintenance activities requested by clients and management.
Ask open ended questions to learn about client’s needs and offer solutions. Recognize opportunities to cross-sell bank products/services and make appropriate partner referrals. Demonstrate proficiency in partner referrals.
Accurately process teller transactions in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
Maintain and balance the cash drawer according to performance standards.
Be able to manage responsibilities of vault supply and reconciliations.
Handle completion of forgery affidavits and fraudulent account inquiries.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalency. Post high school education preferred.
Prior work experience in financial industry preferred.
Ability to provide outstanding client service.
Experience in dealing with clients.
Proficiency with Microsoft products and Bank software products.
Must have good communication skills.
Good mathematical aptitude.
Pleasant manner in dealing with bank clients.
Desire and willingness to be involved in community activities.
Ability to work under pressure.
Must be self-motivated.
Ability to multi task.
Must be able to work under time constraints, use good judgment, and act in a tactful, professional, non-irritated manner while dealing with the public and fellow employees.
