We are currently seeking a Mortgage Closing Processor II position. You will be responsible for mortgage loan closing document preparation on conventional and refinance loan transactions. This includes preparing closing instructions, following company procedures required to close and fund residential mortgage loans in accordance with investor requirements. As the loan closer you will coordinate all aspects of the closing process and ensures that all terms of the loan approval are met. You must be able to recognize and correct insufficient or incorrect information quickly in order to meet strict closing deadlines. This includes the responsibility for completing the role of Pre-closing review, this process prepares the file for the mortgage loan closer.
Review loan approval for conventional and refinance transactions. Review closing STIPS, request homeowners insurance, request verification of employment, review title for outstanding property taxes and liens, this includes working in a rotation for Pre-Closing Review.
Prepare Closing Instructions, issue mortgage disbursement checks or prepare wiring instructions. Review closing STIPS and clear prior to loan closing. Be able to recognize a closing issue and stop a closing if the STIPS are not cleared or a compliance issue exists.
Communicate with Originators, Sales Managers and Title Companies on status of files, request follow-up on outstanding documents, if required.
Balance loan transactions; prepare and coordinate approval of HUD with title companies; send mortgage loan closing documents electronically prior to the closing deadline.
Attend training to remain current on all investor, PMI, appraisal, or corporate requirements that impact loan closings and ensure loans are processed following these guidelines and requirements.
Confirm verbal verification of employment is complete.
Effectively communicate with other departments of the Bank as required for timely and efficient loan closings.
Maintain working knowledge of all software utilized to complete job duties.
High School diploma or equivalent
3 to 5 years of previous mortgage loan experience preferred
Understanding of the required mortgage loan documentation
Current knowledge of secondary marketing standards and FHA and VA requirements preferred.
Ability to manage multiple functions and priorities at one time while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Experience in utilizing personal computers and general office equipment
Customer service orientation and aptitude
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
